What is the bank positioning board?

A cross-bank view of where investment-bank FX desks are positioned, compiled from published trade ideas across 3 banks. For each currency pair it shows how many desks are long versus short, the net directional bias, and — for calls that have closed on a level — the aggregate hit rate. It is the sell-side positioning picture in one place, rather than any single house view.

How is the hit rate calculated?

The hit rate counts only trade ideas that closed on a real market level — the desk’s target was reached or its stop was hit. A call counts as a hit when it closed in profit. Directional views that were superseded by a newer note, or that never carried a level, are excluded from the denominator so the rate reflects resolved calls only.
