What is the cross-firm currency consensus?

The cross-firm currency consensus is the aggregate of the year-end forecasts that major investment-bank FX strategy desks publish for each currency pair. For every covered pair we compile each desk’s year-end target into one distribution and report the consensus median, the full low-to-high forecast range, and the number of contributing desks. Rather than relying on any single house view, the consensus shows where the sell side genuinely agrees on a pair and where it splits — a single legible map of institutional conviction across EUR/USD, USD/JPY, GBP/USD and the wider G10 and emerging-market set.

How many banks contribute to the currency consensus?

The currency consensus aggregates the published year-end forecasts of 35 institutional FX research desks across the major global investment banks. Coverage varies by pair — the most-watched G10 crosses draw the widest participation, while some emerging-market pairs are tracked by a smaller set of desks. Each pair on this page shows its own contributing-desk count so you can weigh how broad the consensus behind a given number is.
